A-Rod #643

He is a polarizing figure. Some people hate him just because he is a Yankee, some because he cheated on his wife and some think he is a juicer. He is also a big strong man with a perfect swing. Here he is staring down the fast ball that would be his 643rd home-run. Like him or hate him, he is a pretty good ball player. Where is My Bat?

On July 15th, my wife (a life long Yankee Fan) and I went to see our first Yankee Game in the very beautiful and expensive Yankee Stadium. $50 tickets got us seats in the third level terrace which was a nice hike on a hot and humid day. However, it was still great fun and wonderful to see the “little girl” face on my bride of 41 years. In this picture you gotta think he had a beautiful swing put where is that confounded bat? Turns out Spike Lee caught Mark Teixeira’s errant bat. Buy a print of the Missing Bat on my commercial site by clicking here.

Pétanque at Champs de Mars

Throughout France you see people playing this game in parks and at the beach. Pétanque is like Bocce but does not require a special court and can really be played anywhere. The game originated in 1907 in La Ciotat, in Provence and is uniquely French as horseshoes is uniquely American. You can buy a print of these players at Champs de Mars near the Eiffel Tower at my commercial site by clicking here.
