Milan Italy is famous for having the first enclosed shopping area in the world. It is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and it is truly a work of art. The structure is formed by two glass-vaulted arcades intersecting in an octagon covering the street connecting Piazza del Duomo to Piazza della Scala. The Galleria is named after Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of Italy. It was built by Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877. In the center of the Galleria there is a mosaic of the bull from Turin Coat of Arms. Legend says that if a person puts their right heel on the bull’s genitals and spins three times, this will bring good luck. This practice has caused a hole where the bulls balls used to be, poor bull. You can buy a print of this image on my commercial gallery by clicking here.
