Good Bye to The Missing Year of 2020

The worst thing about 2020 was the time lost. I don’t think age matters. If you are old like me you think how many years do I have left. If you are young it is a major part of your like spent in quarantine. Time lost is time lost. It can’t be replaced. 2021 brings us hope. We will hopefully soon be able to travel again, see family, hold events and dine out. I am eager for that return to a normal life.

As the sun rises on a new year, be safe, wear a mask, get vaccinated and hopefully soon we will be set free.

Milano Bike Ride

On a beautiful Summer morning I watched a happy father and oblivious baby enjoy the beauty of the ancient streets of Milan. Another in my selective color series.

Captain Beefheart at The Syria Mosque

On October 15, 1972 we went to see Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band at The Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh. Things were so different back then. I simply walked backstage and acted like I belonged. Stood next to the Captain before he went on stage and took this picture and a few others before I was escorted off.

Bodies in Motion Redux

A number of years ago I made a video entitled Bodies In Motion. I didn’t like it. So I remade it a while back and never published it. Hope you find it entertaining. The only video I ever did creating most of the sound track in Garage Band.

Inside Out In Regent Square

Today we had one of the largest snowfalls we have had in years. Over nine inches. The visual difference between the inside of our house and the outside is pretty extreme.

More from The Grateful Dead at the Civic Arena 1973

I am excited to announce that I have signed an agreement with Rhino Records to license my images of the 1973 Grateful Dead concert at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena. The images will be used with the upcoming release of Dave’s Picks Volume 38. Finally I will become a part of the grateful dead universe.
Here are a few more images from the show that will be included in the box set,

Thinking About The National Aviary

Since returning to Pittsburgh we have been members of the National Aviary. It’s the largest Aviary in The United States and we are fortunate to have it in Pittsburgh. We go there often enough that I have my favorite birds and during this horrible pandemic I frequently wonder how they are doing. I can’t wait until we can venture out and visit again.

Missing the Phipps Conservatory

I am reading a novel by Stewart O’Nan entitled Emily Alone. The author is from Pittsburgh and his descriptions of our city are really accurate. The chapter I am reading today is about The Phipps Conservatory and he made me realize how much I miss going there. We are members and normally we visit three or four times a year. Not his year though, hopefully we will be able to go next year.
