Bandit and Shadow

Before returning home to Pittsburgh we lived in a mountain community in the Pocono Mountains. Our current dog is not well socialized yet and doesn’t do well at dog parks. But Shadow knew how to play and he would play with Bandit until they both fell over exhausted. I miss the show these two would put on and never once hurt each other.

Regent Square Daylily #1–Yellow Ledbetter

We planted a lot of day lilies under the misconception that deer would not eat them. They destroyed the ones in our front garden but relentless application of repellent has saved the beauties in our back garden. The dark purple ones will be next to bloom. I think I will call this one Yellow Ledbetter. Thank you Pearl Jam.

Minute Man National Park

We had been to the Lexington and Concord before but never to Minute Man National Park until this week. It is a beautiful park and you can walk through the woods adjacent to the battlefield where the Minute Man jogged through the woods to reengage the British Troops. This tactic won the battle because the British were convinced there were many more soliders than there actually were.

Window with A View

Most of the time when you travel and stay in hotels near the highway you get your choice of view. You can view the front parking lot or rear parking lot. As a Marriott Gold Elite member I almost always get upgraded. This time it was with it.

This is the view from the Aloft in Lexington Massachusetts. We saw a variety of animals and birds during pour stay and still had the convenience of being close to the highway.

Today’s Walk Through Regent Square

We have a young active dog and each day Lady Trey requires about four miles of walks to keep her calm and well balanced. We live in Regent Square which is one of Pittsburgh’s best neighborhoods for walking. It borders Frick Park so you can walk through neighborhood streets or paths through the woods.

On today’s walk we came across a beautiful variety of daylily that I have never seen before. The colors are quite striking and I thought worthy of sharing.

A Missing Moment…Jumping Bean

When assembling images for our show, “Moments and Souls” I forgot to include this one. If we ever decide to publish a book I will have to include it. It is a perfect moment captured in front of the Cloud Gate sculpture in Chicago’s Millennium Park. The sculpture is affectionately called The Bean by Second City residents.

This young lady placed a lot of trust in the crowd as she jumped from her boyfriend’s shoulders into their waiting arms.
