When assembling images for our show, “Moments and Souls” I forgot to include this one. If we ever decide to publish a book I will have to include it. It is a perfect moment captured in front of the Cloud Gate sculpture in Chicago’s Millennium Park. The sculpture is affectionately called The Bean by Second City residents.
This young lady placed a lot of trust in the crowd as she jumped from her boyfriend’s shoulders into their waiting arms.
Part of Main Street in Memphis is a pedestrian mall. Beautiful wooden trolleys run along the street so some caution is still required when walking. Near the Mississippi River is this beautiful outdoor metal sculpture.
In a way it reminds me of Chicago’s Cloudgate (The Bean).
I am going to be posting images that I may have posted before with a candidate # thereby collecting a list of what I feel would be likely candidates to print for a gallery show of new images of only digital photography.Being around “The Bean” in Chicago’s Millennium Park makes people act a little stupid. This young lady tried crowd diving into a group of strangers who fortunately caught her. Please feel free to leave comments if you agree or disagree about including them in a “best of” list.
About six years ago my Daughter moved to Chicago and made it her home. Later this year she will be married at a Chicago Landmark, The Palmer House Hotel. Of course Mom and Dad have traveled there a lot over the last six years and thus I have collected what I think are a few decent images. Later this week we will make another journey to America’s “Second City”. Here are some of the better images and most are available for purchase as prints.
Going to Chicago on Tuesday to see my Daughter and family and I am sure I will take some pictures. We are going to see the White Sox for sure, so probably some baseball pictures. Anyhow here are some images from the last trip. See my Chicago Gallery by clicking here.
Crawling under the Cloud Gate (The Bean) in Chicago provides and interesting distorted view of the sculpture and the Chicago Skyline. The Bean is the centerpiece of Millennium Park in the Chicago Loop. You can see others and buy a print of this one at my commercial gallery.
Cloud Gate, a public sculpture by Indian-born British artist Anish Kapoor, is the centerpiece of the AT&T Plaza in Millennium Park within the Loop community area of Chicago, Illinois. To most people it is simply known as The Bean. Being around the Bean causes people to act a little nuts. It is a visual experience that challenges your perspective. People walk into it accidentally, lay on the ground underneath it and everybody takes pictures in front of it. Of course some of us just need to perform like this young lady who decided to dive into the crowd. You can buy a print of this image and see others at my commercial gallery.
