Remembering Becky

Being an instructor allows you to get to know a lot of people for a brief period of time. Becky was one of my photography students at The Ivy School of Professional Art in Pittsburgh back in the 1970’s. She was a beautiful soul, almost painfully shy with a dry sense of humor. I have always liked this picture I took of her. Her smile is Mona Lisa like. I reconnected with her briefly a number of years ago on Facebook. Unfortunately she was close to death battling cancer. She died way too young

  1. I was a student of Ivy School of Professional Art. I graduated in 1979. There was a commercial made while I was there. I was seen in that commercial one or two times. That was an exiting time in Pittsburgh. Is there anyway you could find that commercial that was made between 1977 and 1979. It would make me soo happy if you could find that piece of advertising and somehow send it to me? I would greatly appreciate that, thank you so very much!!!! My Gmail is baldwingail615@gmail.com. Thank you again!!!

    • Hi, I left Pittsburgh in 1979 so I don’t think I ever saw it. There is an Ivy Facebook group you may want to join. I will post your message there to see if anyone knows about the commercial. Susan Kirschenbaum is a member of the group and she might know. Thanks for your comment!

      • Thanks for your comment. It’s fascinating how names have been changed. My own name was changed by my father. As a traveling salesman in the 1940’s he had difficulty finding hotel rooms due to his family Ukrainian name so he had it changed.
