Last month I publish some images of the Trevi Fountain in Rome. It is truly a magnificent structure and a must see. However Rome has many beautiful fountains and I found some of the smaller ones just as enjoyable. Here are a couple of the smaller fountains including the one outside the Pantheon.
The Pantheon is a beautiful historical building in Paris. It was originally built as a church dedicated to St. Genevieve. Now, it serves as a crypt for famous French statesmen and kings. It is an early example of Neoclassicism, with a facade modelled after the Pantheon in Rome. It seemed strange to see an Argentinean Gaucho sitting on the steps. Maybe dressed in costume for a play or for a job in an Argentinian Restaurant? I guess I should have asked, but was too busy taking this picture.
