The Centre Pompidou is a modern art museum in Paris that is truly one of the best in the world. Modern art both astounds me and makes me laugh. I saw this work at the Centre Pompidou that was a string of plain white Christmas lights haphazardly put on the wall with a little card that said “Untitled” and the name of the artist. It made me laugh so hard I had to leave the area. This is a view of Paris from the roof of the Centre Pompidou.
Pétanque is French game that can be played anywhere. It is similar to the Italian game,Bocce but unlike the Bocce it does not require a fixed court. One player throws a small target ball and the p[layers try to get as close to it as possible without hitting it. These players at Champs de Mars are playing near the Eiffel Tower in Paris France. Other cities have taken the name city of lights, but we all know that the name refers to Paris and only Paris. Just as there is only one Big Apple, there is only one City of Lights. I have known Americans that refuse to go to Paris because they think the people are rude. My experience says that couldn’t be further from the truth. People are friendly and will go out of there way to help you, just like New Yorkers do. They will especially try to help you if you attempt to speak French to them. They may correct your French, but at the same time they will lead you to the Metro station rather than direct you. This is a view of Paris from Montmartre.
