Happy Birthday George!

Today is George Romero’s 73rd Birthday. Although zombies did exist in movie culture before Romero came along he has deservedly won his “title” as King of the Zombies. Before Romero zombies did little in movies besides move incredibly slow and mostly terrorize comedians like Abbot and Costello and the Ritz Brothers. George changed the whole dynamic with Night of the Living Dead and became a cult hero. This is George Romero on the set of Dawn of the Dead (1978) in Monroeville Mall.
