The beach at Atlantic City for a long time has been considered one of the best beaches on the East Coast. I remember going there as a teen and was just amazed at how wide the beach was and the fine white texture of the sand. The city has gone through a lot of changes since my youth. There were no casinos when I worked there for a Summer and now casinos outnumber salt water taffy shops. However, the beach has been a constant and now thanks to conservationists will continue to be so. After Hurricane Sandy they planted all these beach grasses. These will help to hold the dunes in place and protect the beach from erosion. Way to go New Jersey! You can see other images and buy prints on my commercial gallery.
Grey Towers was the summer home of Gifford Pinchot. Among other things Pinchot was the first Chief of the United States Forest Service from 1905 until his firing in 1910, and was the 28th Governor of Pennsylvania. The splendid grounds and views from Grey Towers are free to the public but there is a small charge for a tour of the interior of the mansion. It is in Milford Pennsylvania and beautiful and a tribute to his work in environmental conservation. See more scenic views and buy prints at my commercial site..
