Months ago someone told us to try a place for coffee and breakfast called Biddle’s Escape. Of course, it is on Biddle Street in Regent Square and for months we would walk by it and not go in because we usually do not carry cash or credit cards on our exercise walks. Today I took a $20 and we went in and had a great breakfast sandwich and coffee.
You would know it is a different sort of place even if you could not see the weirdness. People sing at you rather than talk to you but the place is a feast for the eyes. Not only that but they have so many different sort of coffees and teas it is tough to make a choice. The food choices are limited but quite good and reasonably priced. Definitely worth the trip.
Hucksters come in all different shapes and sizes on the Mayan Riviera. Most are men calling out ” Hey take a look?” “Almost Free”. Resturants take a lower key approach and with menus in hand attempt to lead you in to their establishment. This young lady was not at all abrasive and the food was pretty good with a nice sunset view.
People will argue about anything. One of the most frequent arguments you hear in taverns and bars is which beer is the best. This argument is specious at its core. It is like saying which food is best. In summer one may choose a lighter beer and on Saint Patrick’s Day, anything but Harp or Guinness is just not proper in my opinion. However, it is also in my opinion that the best beer in the world comes from Belgium. With over 2000 beer brands you have a world of choice in Belgium. No matter if you like Duvel, Trappist or Stella the best brews are made in Belgium. Leffe is one of my favorites. You can buy a print of this image at my commercial gallery by clicking here.
