We met this guy on the road in California years ago on our way to Las Vegas. He spent his time following different bands around the country and was at a rest stop going to a Moe concert. I always wondered about people who basically spent their lives doing this. Do they work? How to they afford to have this lifestyle? In any case his camper van did not have room for another sticker. Movies in Montclair New Jersey
We were fortunate to live in Montclair New Jersey for 15 years in a wonderful old victorian house. Montclair is just a short commute to New York City and has been used as a location for a lot of movies including “Analyze This” and “Seven.” One time when I was in Boston I called home and my daughter was very excited because Jennifer Anniston’s Trailer was parked in front of our house because they were shooting a scene in a local restaurant called The Cozy Inn. I was pissed being in Boston and having Jennifer Anniston parked at my house. One day when I was working at home a crew showed up to shoot a commercial right in front of our house. They went door to door to let us know they had permits from the city and permission to block off traffic on our street. They also gave us permission to enjoy the catering truck…so lunch was on them. You can see other images from movie locations at my commercial site.
Happy Memorial Day
L’ Europe Roulante Videograph
The famous film director Robert Altman was once asked why all of his movies had at least one murder. He said, and I paraphrase, “…you don’t have to too much of a plot if you have at least one murder scene.” So here it is once again, my 8 minute epic videograph of Europe and make sure you wait for the murder scene! Another One for the Ladies
Earlier this week I published a post entitled “One for The Ladies”. It received a lot of likes and views. A former student and Facebook friend accused me of holding out in jest but it made me look through some recent files for another similar sort of image. So here is one from a bicycle parade in Paris a couple of years ago. What a smile he gave to Hinda! You can buy a print of this one and see others on my commercial gallery.
One for the Ladies
One of the ways you stay married for 42 years is to have open, honest and continuous conversations with your spouse. As a photographer I am lucky since my wife was and still is my best model and when shooting my wing woman. I love taking photojournalist and candid pictures of people and my wife is always pointing out the pretty woman and in turn I always alert her to the studly men. I took this one for her in a park in Milan Italy and want to share it with my female fans. You can see other images at my photojournalist gallery.
Inside The Cathedral Santa Maria Nascente
The Cathedral Santa Maria Nascente is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan and is commonly known as Il Duomo. However, Il Duomo is used also in reference to other Cathedrals in Italy, the most famous being the one in Florence. Although you are not allowed to take Photographs inside, I managed to take a couple of shots before being discouraged. It is certainly a magnificent Cathedral and the largest in Europe outside of the Vatican. It took six centuries to build, just imagine that kind of commitment. Human Statues
Human statues are fun to watch and seem to be very popular in Europe. During our last trips we encountered them in Amsterdam,Paris,Milan and Como. In Paris we saw two or three different ones. I am amazed at how still they can be and enjoying watching other people’s reaction to them. . This one had some problems though, it was very hot and he or she was squirming around in their suit creating some weird poses for a mummy. You can buy a print of this one and see other images at my European gallery.
World’s Coolest Elevator
If you travel a lot and live long enough you will see some cool elevators. Glass elevators with glass floors, elevators on the outside of buildings are some of the most fun rides. However, the open air elevator at the Louvre has got to be the coolest. It is too small to be practical and doesn’t serve well as a people mover but it is fun to watch and ride. Desi Lunch Box
A dabbawala is a person in India, most commonly found in the city of Mumbai, who collects freshly cooked food in lunch boxes from the residences of the office workers and delivers it to workplaces and returns the empty boxes back to the customer’s residence. This is a collection of lunch boxes displayed at the Pompidou Centre in Paris providing a unique artistic display. You can see more images from my European collection by clicking here.
