Human Statues

Human statues are fun to watch and seem to be very popular in Europe. During our last trips we encountered them in Amsterdam,Paris,Milan and Como. In Paris we saw two or three different ones. I am amazed at how still they can be and enjoying watching other people’s reaction to them. . This one had some problems though, it was very hot and he or she was squirming around in their suit creating some weird poses for a mummy. You can buy a print of this one and see other images at my European gallery.

World’s Coolest Elevator

If you travel a lot and live long enough you will see some cool elevators. Glass elevators with glass floors, elevators on the outside of buildings are some of the most fun rides. However, the open air elevator at the Louvre has got to be the coolest. It is too small to be practical and doesn’t serve well as a people mover but it is fun to watch and ride. Artistic Elevator

Just about everything in the Pompidou Centre expresses modern art. As you take the escalator to the higher floors you are treated to Soundscape by former Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart. The elevator to the ground floor is also a work of art and changes appearance depending on the position of the ascending or descending elevator. Palm Canyon

Outside of Palm Springs California is a park called Indian Canyons. There are a number of trails but the most popular is the Palm Canyon trail which is 15 miles long. A natural spring creates a swath of palms and other greenery in the rough rock canyon and desert terrain. You can see other images from the California desert like Joshua Tree at my commercial gallery.

Sunset over Rancho Mirage

The Palm Springs area in southern California is a favorite oasis for people needing some time in the warm desert without giving up the luxuries of an urban environment. There are great restaurants, shopping and other creature comforts coupled with beautiful desert canyons, luxurious swimming pools and 5 star golf courses. Almost every night there are dramatic sunsets and even in the summer, the air is dry and clear. Buy a print of this one and see other images at my commercial gallery.

The Ultimate Brunch!

A few years ago a friend of ours celebrated their 50th Birthday with a brunch at the Rainbow Room atop of Rockefeller Center in New York City. You don’t have a career like mine without eating at some fabulous Restaurants. I have dined in a Belgium castle, in the mountains of Japan and at fine restaurants in many countries. I have never been a real fan on Brunch, however the spread at the Rainbow Room was something special. From fresh sushi to hand carved roast beef and lamb, this was a magnificent place to have a special brunch. When you are done you can see one of the best views in Manhattan from the Top of The Rock. Leonardo’s Wonderful Museum

Milan is the wonderful bustling commercial center of Italy. Some call it the New York City of Italy and as you would expect from any business center it has wonderful hotels, restaurants and a rich history. It was also the home of Leonardo Da Vinci and in the center of the city is a large plain building honoring the man and his inventions. The inside is as spectacular as the outside is plain. You can see all his inventions and how the man lived in the renaissance city of Milan. This image is one small slice of the second floor housing two magnificent globes that he made and are lighted from within. You can buy a print of this image and see others at my commercial gallery.

Brera Fortune Teller

Brera is the arts district of Milan in Italy. The streets are lined with great restaurants, galleries and street vendors. At night women set up tables outside and read people’s fortunes with tarot cards and other mystical devices. This cigar smoking seer caught my eye. Parma Ham

I am sure if you live in any major city in the United States you know where to get the best Parma Ham or prosciutto. You may even drive out of your way to go to some special Italian American deli to procure this expensive delicacy. I am also pretty sure that nothing can touch the real deal made in Italy and served in Italian Restaurants. This one was in a neighborhood bistro in milan where they give you a couple slices as an amuse bouche to wet your pallet. Buy a print of this one and see others at my commercial gallery.
