On each visit to Europe I seem to wind up taking images of doorways. Doors fascinate me because of their plurality. They are both an entry and exit. Some doorways in Europe are literally thousands of years old. Here are some I captured in October of 2019 in Rome, Florence and Elba.

Last month I published a series of images entitled Doorways of Prague . Traveling through Europe I have always been fascinated with the architecture. Sometimes it is difficult to capture a whole structure in an image but you can always capture the entire doorway.On my last trip I realized how the doorway is in some way a synopsis of the whole structure.
So here is a new series The Doorways of München (Munich). I am sorry I am not disciplined enough to take notes of the location of each doorway.

Last month I published a series of images entitled Doorways of Prague . Traveling through Europe I have always been fascinated with the architecture. Traveling through Europe I became facinated with some of the ancient doorways of the cities. One of the first I ever published was in March of 2012. It was a doorway in Bruges that I photographed in the 1990″s while I was there on business.
The doorways of Prague (Praha) in the Czech Republic were some of the best I have ever seen. I published a few in 2016 but have since done some editing so that you can appreciate the detail and variety of these ancient doorways.
