Richard Burke and Dale Schmitt have over 80 years of combined photographic experience. They are both eclectic photographers with broad portfolios of commercial and artistic work. If the wind is low and the waves small you will usually see people on longboards paddling through the water off Sunset Beach Florida as the sun sets. If the sky is gray and the winds are gusting there are no beach loungers walking the shore just all the young dudes.

More human observation. Young women strut the beach in bikinis totally aware of their image and impact they have on the males at the beach. However, young men the same age don’t have a freaking clue. This one guy looks so lost that if the other young man doesn’t catch that football it hits in in the head. This would undoubtedly be embarrassing and cause all the young ladies that he is trying to impress to giggle and laugh. Meanwhile that other dude made a great catch and held on.

I have always been fascinated by watching male behavior around women. Unlike me, most men will not glance at an attractive woman if there is any chance they will be caught ogling. They will suck in their guts until they pass out but not venture a glance. I on the other hand just don’t give a damn.

New York’s Central Park

I was in Central Park with family for a walk on Sunday Afternoon. I only had only lens, no tripod and had to keep up with my group. I wanted to take a picture of Central Park that captured the feeling of the place to me which was in constant movement. Bike riders, walkers,dogs, old people, young people; they were are there and all in motion. I set the exposure for 1/30th of a second and tried to hold it steady as I took a single step and stopped. This is the result and thanks to my canine friend, it works. You can see others and buy a print of this one on my commercial gallery.

Great cities have great parks. Of course New Yorkers will insist that Central Park is “the best” in the world and maybe it is. New Yorkers also say it is the largest city park but it’s not even the largest in the United States. It is special however and it’s central location makes it very accessible to people living in Manhattan and of course, tourists. The human tapestry is just as much fun as the natural setting. Um, We Are Sharing…Right?

When you walk across the Clemente Bridge in Pittsburgh to go to PNC Park it is closed to traffic during baseball games.
