John Medeski

John Medeski is best known for playing the keyboards and the Hammond B3 Organ. I was impressed in a recent concert to see how many different wind instruments he played. This one looks like it is made out of PVC. The funny thing is that normally after he plays a lead he kind of just waits until the next break. With this one though, he would kind of hold the instrument out and stare at it with a funny expression that seemed to say, I can’t believe I am playing this. Billy Martin Playing the Xylophone

Billy Martin comes to concert with a big bag of tricks. In addition, to the drums, he plays a variety of instruments including plastic hangers. Yep, the same hangers you hang clothes on. He also played a bicycle wheel. Here he is playing the Xylophone during a recent concert at the Sherman Theatre in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Chris Wood from Medeski,Martin and Wood is one of the world’s best bass players. During their current “acosutic tour” he played three different basses during the show. After watching John Medeski play the piano and I can’t help but wonder if they have to retune the Steinway after every performance. This picture was taken at Medeski, Martin and Wood playing the Sherman Theather in Stroudsburg Pennsylvania on October 11,2012. Last night we saw Medeski, Martin and Wood at the Sherman Theather in Stroudsburg, PA. I have been a fan for many years but never saw them play. The show was awesome and even better because if we had stayed home we would of watched the Steelers lose. Chris Wood is a an amazing bass player and really holds the trio together. Not only is he fun to listen to but he is very expressive physically. You feel the upright bass is welded to his body as he moves around the stage. In 1977 we were doing a fashion shoot at an abandoned train station in Greensburg Pennsylvania. We liked the derelict appearance of the place which provided a great contrast to the model and the fashions. After an hour or so of shooting, to our surprise a train pulled in and these two conductors got off and looked at their watches. I think we surprised them as well as we quickly ran over to the train and took a couple of quick pictures. You can buy a print of this image on my commercial gallery by clicking here.

The Production Assistant

I don’t know her name or official title, but she was clearly one of the Production Assistants on the 1978 Production of Dawn of the Dead. She was very friendly and helpful and extremely busy.
