OK, this is the most stupid sign I have seen in a while. I mean c’mon man we don’t need a sign to tell us where the ocean is. Put up a 20 foot long burger or something; what a waste of ad space. And while I am ranting, this is for you Donald Trump, “Your hotels are dumps!” You couldn’t pay enough to stay at Dump Taj Mahal, god what a slash at India. The French Open and Pari-Roller
This weekend is the finals of the French Open. It is also Friday and time for the world’s largest skating event called Pari-Roller. Similar events occur in other european cities, but none as large as the Paris event which happens every Friday night but should be special tonight because of the French Open. The skaters begin to gather at Gare Montparnasse around 9:30 and get the week’s skating route. At 10 P.M. close to 10,000 skaters have gathered and begin to skate through the city until 3 A.M. Diamond Head
I was very unimpressed with Honolulu and Waikiki Beach. Maybe it is because I visited Kauai and Maui many times before ever spending any time on Oahu except for the airport. Maybe it was because I thought Miami had better beaches. Maybe it was because Honolulu reminded me of Miami. Maybe it was because of all the street hustlers and the crowded beaches. In any case the one thing I did like was Diamond Head. It was a great place to hike and quiet and serene compared to noisy Waikiki beach. Orléans City Hall
The city of Orléans is about 90 kilometers south of Paris in the Loire River valley. It is a beautiful small city with friendly people, great architecture and wonderful restaurants offering all types of Cuisine. Renaissance Hotel Groslot serves as the Town Hall for this beautiful city and is situated behind the Sainte-Croix Cathedral. It’s friday night in Paris so it is time for Pari-Roller! Do you have what it takes to skate through the streets of Paris from 10 PM until Dawn? I don’t and never did, but this guy does. Walking the Board
Waikiki Beach is world famous and crowded. It is like South Beach but on Oahu. You can see everything in Waikiki, surfing, swimming, sailboarding, street hustlers,vacationeers and scam artists. It is expensive to stay right on the beach and also expensive to rent surfboards there. These two young lady surfers found a very practical way for carrying their boards back to their lodgings. Dinner Kiss
There is something about Paris that causes people to kiss. People think of Paris as the most romantic city in the world. Like most big cities it has its share of crime, beggars,street hustlers,sidewalk vendors and shady people. However, when touring Paris with your spouse or significant other you just can’t help but kiss more. Maybe it is in the water or the wine?
