At the Medeski Martin and Wood concert, I took a lot of pictures of Chris Wood. He is not only a great bassist but he let’s it all hang out. His facial expressions equal the intensity and joy of the music. You can buy a print of this image on my commercial site by clicking here.

Bass Hands
Chris Wood from Medeski,Martin and Wood is one of the world’s best bass players. During their current “acosutic tour” he played three different basses during the show. When he plays the “stand up”bass the instrument seems to become part of his body. Click here to see other images or by a print of this one.

Jazz Hands
After watching John Medeski play the piano and I can’t help but wonder if they have to retune the Steinway after every performance. This picture was taken at Medeski, Martin and Wood playing the Sherman Theather in Stroudsburg Pennsylvania on October 11,2012. Chris Wood Portrait
Last night we saw Medeski, Martin and Wood at the Sherman Theather in Stroudsburg, PA. I have been a fan for many years but never saw them play. The show was awesome and even better because if we had stayed home we would of watched the Steelers lose. Chris Wood is a an amazing bass player and really holds the trio together. Not only is he fun to listen to but he is very expressive physically. You feel the upright bass is welded to his body as he moves around the stage. This is the first of a series and you can purchase prints at my commercial gallery by clicking here.
Dino Valenti–Caught in the Act
It was 1973 and I only had one lens for my new Nikon F3 camera. We were sitting in the stands at a rock festival at the University of Pittsburgh stadium when I noticed Dino Valenti from Quicksilver Messenger Service sitting in the stands right behind me. They were scheduled to go on later in the day and were watching and listening to Billy Preston as we were. I turned and snapped this picture which was the first photojournalistic image I ever took. Larry Coryell
Larry Coryell is an amazing guitarist. We have been fortunate to see him a few times with other bands and as an acoustic solo artist. Here he is at the Stanley Theather in Pittsburgh in 1974 warming up the crowd for Stanley Clarke. You can see other concert images and buy a print of this one by clicking here.
