COVID-19 has turned our lives upside down. I was curious to see how it would impact the neighborhood Halloween spirit. If you have never experienced the holiday in our neighborhood you are missing something. People travel from surrounding neighborhoods just to trick or treat here. While there will be no door to door trick or treating this year CPVID 19 does not seem to have spoiled the spirit,
Some of the most wonderful “art” in the world is stuff you just find walking around. There is no artist signature, no gallery lighting or people walking around going “hmm” while they touch their chin. This is an ornamental design integrated into a wrought iron gate found near Cancún in the Mexican province of Quintana Roo.
Biot is a medieval village in the hills of Provence between Antibes and Nice. It is what you would expect of a Village in Provence. Narrow ancient streets, historic ruins and great little cafes and restaurants. What makes Biot unusual is the ancient glass works that have been there for centuries. You can visit the glass works and see today’s craftsmen blow glass works of art in the same way they have done for centuries. You can also spend as much money as you want in the shop. Of course even the town street map is made from ceramic glass.
The Revel Beach Resort in Atlantic City New Jersey is a great place to relax, gamble an dine but also a tribute to modern interior and exterior design. Throughout the entire Resort there are eye catching design elements. There are some great resturants there including a branch of Washington’s Central Michel Richard which features this eye catching stack of plates at the entry way. The Revel Beach Resort in Atlantic City New Jersey is a great place to relax, gamble an dine but also a tribute to modern interior and exterior design. Throughout the entire Resort there are unusual sculptures but this one really caught my eye. It spans four stories in the central escalator area and the gold “bills” really seem to have no interconnection although you know it is all connected. The Revel Beach Resort in Atlantic City New Jersey uses a lot of chrome and reflective surfaces in their interior design. The interior design of this Hotel is phenomenal but they also extended it outside to the valet parking area. This is a reflection at sunrise in a chrome pillar outside the hotel.
