Bok Tower

The beautiful tower complete with carillon was built by Pulitzer Prize winning author, Edward W. Bok in 1929. You can stroll the magnificent gardens while listening to classical music on the amazing carillon performed by famous music masters from Belgium, France and the USA.

It is located in Lake Wales Florida and at the highest point in Florida offering great views of the citrus groves surrounding the area. You can even tour Mr. Bok’s house and just imagine living there in the 1930’s

Little Blue Heron

“Little Blue Heron”sounds like a song title or a rock band name. We were in the Florida Botantical Gardens stalking Osprey and Aligators and this little blue guy started to follow us. I think he works for the NSA or something.

Bromeliad

The Florida Botantical Garden in Largo Florida is a very large garden and nature preserve complete with a heritage village. It has beautiful walkways, plants, animals and best of all it is free. They don’t even charge for parking.

I don’t remember the name of this bromeliad but was struck by the variety of color in the leaves.

Summer Sunday in Paris

Paris is like any other major city, things slow down on Sunday. In the summer people have a lot of Parks to choose from in Paris. Parc Monceau,Jardin des Tuileries and Jardin du Palais Royal are some of the better known spots. However, my favorite is the Jardin du Luxembourg adjacent to Luxembourg Palace which is the center of the French Government. It is very large with many different spaces and you can see lovers kissing, joggers jogging and some of the most beautiful gardens in the world. This image sums up Sunday in Paris to me. Spring at the Keukenhoff

It is worth it to go to The Netherlands if the only thing you do is visit the Keukenhof. The park is 32 hectares wide and has 15 kilometres of footpaths so you can’t see it all in a day. There are wonderful Inns and hotels nearby if you wish to extend your stay. If you like Tulips go in the early spring but each season offers amazing garden views and activities for young and old. This image was taken in the rain during April and you can purchase a print and see others on my commercial gallery by clicking here.

A View from Château de Versailles

The gardens at Versailles cover over 800 hectares of land which is over 1700 acres by english measurement. It is really impossible to cover the whole garden in a day. Although there is an admission to get into the Château , the gardens are free to the public as are most gardens in France. The scene is spectacular and this view is from the second floor of the Château through an open window. You can see other images and buy prints from my European gallery by clicking here.

Park Kiss

What causes a couple to suddenly kiss? The warm sun, a beautiful sunny day, the joy of being alive or is it something sexual. As I work on my new book, I am finding out that people kiss for a variety of reasons and most of them unrelated to their loins. Sure passionate kisses are part of romance but people kiss as a form of greeting or when saying goodbye. People hug and kiss to express joy and to console people in moments of sadness. I think however, that this kiss in a Paris garden was more related to the loins. You can buy a copy of this image and see other kisses by clicking here.

Dinner Kiss

There is something about Paris that causes people to kiss. People think of Paris as the most romantic city in the world. Like most big cities it has its share of crime, beggars, street hustlers, sidewalk vendors and shady people. However, when touring Paris with your spouse or significant other you just can’t help but kiss more. Maybe it is in the water or the wine? In any case here is a couple kissing in a cafe before diner is served. You can see more images form my European collection by clicking here.

Waiting on a Kiss

A few months ago I published a few images from my book in progress (Just a Kiss) and a lot of people liked Giverny Kiss. This image was taken a few seconds before as the two young lovers sat in contemplation of one of the most romantic spots on earth, the Water Gardens at Giverny. You can buy a copy of this image on my commercial site by clicking here.

Giverny Kiss

What Better place than Monet’s famous water garden to steal a kiss? The mood of the place is romantic to its core. The famous house and wonderful gardens are like stepping in to a Monet Painting. Giverny is located near Vernon, France which is about one and half hours from Paris and worth the trip. You can buy a print of this image at my commercial gallery by clicking here.
