Summer Sunday in Paris

Paris is like any other major city, things slow down on Sunday. In the summer people have a lot of Parks to choose from in Paris. Parc Monceau,Jardin des Tuileries and Jardin du Palais Royal are some of the better known spots. However, my favorite is the Jardin du Luxembourg adjacent to Luxembourg Palace which is the center of the French Government. It is very large with many different spaces and you can see lovers kissing, joggers jogging and some of the most beautiful gardens in the world. This image sums up Sunday in Paris to me. Sunday at the Park Paris France

Park Kiss

What causes a couple to suddenly kiss? The warm sun, a beautiful sunny day, the joy of being alive or is it something sexual. As I work on my new book, I am finding out that people kiss for a variety of reasons and most of them unrelated to their loins. Sure passionate kisses are part of romance but people kiss as a form of greeting or when saying goodbye. People hug and kiss to express joy and to console people in moments of sadness. I think however, that this kiss in a Paris garden was more related to the loins. You can buy a copy of this image and see other kisses by clicking here.

Portrait of Straw

I came across this straw sculpture in the Gardens at Luxembourg Palace in Paris France. I tried photographing it a couple of different ways. It seemed to look best when acting as a frame for a portrait. However, since it is not a portrait of the person, I used a reduced depth of field and kind of like the result.
