San Antonio River Walk

San Antonio has a unique attraction that you wouldn’t expect to find in a Texas city. Let’s face it, most rivers in Texas don’t have a lot of water. I lived in Dallas for three years and never saw water in the Trinity river. However San Antonio is different and through the center of the city runs the San Antonio river and the San Antonio River Walk is a public park complete with Gondola tours, water taxis and scenic restaurants and shops along the banks. Not to be missed if you are there on business or pleasure. See this image and others in my book, A Hundred Places I Went to Before I died.

Sunday at the Park

Paris is like any other major city, things slow down on Sunday. In the summer people have a lot of Parks to choose from in Paris. Parc Monceau,Jardin des Tuileries and Jardin du Palais Royal are some of the better known spots. However, my favorite is the Jardin du Luxembourg adjacent to Luxembourg Palace which is the center of the French Government. It is very large with many different spaces and you can see lovers kissing, joggers jogging and some of the most beautiful gardens in the world. This image sums up Sunday in Paris to me. Bandelier National Monument

Near Los Alamos New Mexico is a great American national treasure, Bandelier National Monument. The place is much like it was when Native Americans lived there and not far from some reservations where native Americans still live in the style of their grandfathers. A great place to hike and see the natural treasures of the area where you can visualize the life style of three hundred years ago.
