Zane Grey House

Most people think of Zane Grey as a man of the west. However when he took up writing full time and gave up his dental career in 1905 he moved to a house at the confluence of the Lackawaxen and Delaware rivers in Pennsylvania. He wrote a lot of his novels there before moving his family to California in 1918.

Today his a house is a beautifully maintained museum near a great spot to view Bald Eagles on the Delaware river.

Palm Reflections

This house sits on private property next to this small lake inside the Los Angeles Arboretum in Glendale. Imagine waking each morning and enjoying this view. Of course you have to deal with the sounds of tourists during the day and the loud honking noise of the peacocks. Still, I think I could handle it.

Sunnylands Center and Gardens

The estate originally built by Walter Annenberg in 1966 was used as a winter residence by the ambassador and his wife. Sunnylands Center has since been used by many famous people and where President Obama recently escaped for a few days after finishing his term.

The gardens are stunning and free to the public. Tickets can be purchased to tour The Residence when it is not in use.

Halloween House Tour-3

In my neighborhood we can expect about 300 kids this Saturday. Seems like everyone decorates a little bit but there are certain houses in Regent Square that are Legend. So over the next few days I will be posting a few of the more dramatic Houses of Horror! This Zombie Rehab is on the street directly behind my house.
