Sunset at the Blue Deck Cancun

Along the side of the Las Islas Shopping Center in Cancun is a strip of bars and cafes that face the setting sun. This sunset was taken from the famous Blue Deck during two for one happy hour and they make great and strong rum drinks.

Autumn Sunset

Winter comes quickly to the mountains. 40 miles away, the leaves have not yet hit peak color but here in the mountains the leaves are on the ground. You can see the shifting color and angle of the morning sun. The evening sunsets are cooler in color temperature but still brilliant to behold.

High Tide on the Bay of Fundy

A long time ago we camped at Digby Neck on the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. The trip marked a lot of firsts for us; the first time we saw the northern lights, the first time I ate Digby Chicken which is a giant scallops grilled and served on a hamburger bun and also the first time we saw the highest tides in the world. We went swimming in the frigid bay in the afternoon and the boats at this dock were all on a ramp some 30 feet below the dock. This is the same dock at high tide. Sunset over Rancho Mirage

The Palm Springs area in southern California is a favorite oasis for people needing some time in the warm desert without giving up the luxuries of an urban environment. There are great restaurants, shopping and other creature comforts coupled with beautiful desert canyons, luxurious swimming pools and 5 star golf courses. Almost every night there are dramatic sunsets and even in the summer, the air is dry and clear. Buy a print of this one and see other images at my commercial gallery.

Just Another Maui Sunset

One of the advantages of staying at Ka’anapali Beach in Maui is that each day you are treated to a beautiful Sunset. Sure very rarely it may rain but one of the most difficult decisions of the day is where to view the setting sun. In summer I like to be dinning on the beach at The Barefoot Bar or Pacifico and see the setting sun as we enjoy cocktails before dinner. In the winter, it is fun to be in Turtle Bay or Black rock to see the cliff divers. You can see other stunning Maui vistas on my commercial site by clicking here.

Diners at Sunset

While visiting Maui, planing dinner is really important. The trade winds keep bugs away and the temperatures are so mild you can dine outdoors every night. The advantage of doing this is that each evening you can see a beautiful light show while you dine. This was shot at the Japengo restaurant in the Maui Hyatt at Ka’anapali Beach. Maui Sunset

Maui is one of the most western parts of the United States and if you are in West Maui, every night you will see a light show. It is rare not to see a spectacular sunset in Maui unless you are asleep or something. This was taken from the Hula Grille on Ka’anapali Beach between the appetizer and main course. Pinching the Tower

I first noticed people doing this years ago in New York city. People all over the world try to get a unique perspective on a monument or palace by pinching it. If the angle is right, one can create a unique perspective or comical picture. One of the most famous is people pushing or leaning against the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I don’t think these people got it right, they are too close to the Eiffel Tower, but they sure look like they had fun trying. This was shot across the river from the tower atTrocadero Plaza. Trocadéro Plaza in Paris France

Millions of people visit the Eiffel Tower each year and going to the top is a rite of passage and offers one of the most famous view of Paris France. However, if you want to SEE the Eiffel Tower don’t cross the river. It is so large that the best place to view the tower is across the river on the famous Trocadéro Plaza. It is also a great spot to watch the sunset with the tower in front of the sun. Thousands come to the plaza each night just to see the sunset. If you get there early enough you can enjoy dinner from one of the many great cafes that offer views of the tower. You can buy a print of this image at my gallery by clicking here.
