Inspired by William S. Burroughs, I took a series of images using only a 35 MM slide projector for lighting. You can see another even more provocative image of this series by clicking here.. Trish Begley was the model and she need to hold very still and exhibit complete patience during this shoot. You can buy a print of this image at my commercial gallery by clicking here.
This lady looks like she might rip the liver out of your body and feed it to her son, however this is just the practiced intensity of a Steelers Fan. On this day about 8,000 Steelers Fans were at Latrobe to watch the team in training camp. It was very humid, very warm and had just rained. It didn’t seem to bother the fans or the football team. People hate him because of his sordid past. I like him because he wins football games which is really all I want from my Quarterback. This was taken at training camp two years ago before he served his four game suspension. He was very nervous that fans would boo him but in Latrobe he just got cheers, not jeers. I have been following the Steelers since the 1960’s so I remember the old days when wins were scarce. As we approach the NFL Draft next week, football is once again on my mind. I hope we can draft Damarti Poe int he first round, but if not I have confidence we will draft some new great players to take its forward. I hope that the new players can play as good as Bret Keisel although I doubt that anyone can match the beard! You can buy a print of this image at my commercial gallery by clicking here.
Ian Anderson is currently touring again. He is without a doubt the best rock and roll flutist ever and a great songwriter and singer. I am sure his new show is wonderful and worth seeing but don’t think it can match Jethro Tull playing “As Thick as A Brick” in 1973. This shot was taken at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena. I don’t have many images that have survived from back in the day. This was taken at a Grateful Dead concert in 1973 at the Pittsburgh Civiv Arena. It’s not for sale because the quality isn’t good enough. However I thought that some of you would want to see it anyhow.
This photograph was taken long before our society became scared of our own shadow. Now our government officials and media pundits constantly use fear to sell their positions. In the 1970’s there were no hand sanitizers and we didn’t know about lime disease. I can’t imagine a parent allowing their child to kiss a deer today, but back then it was no problem. This is my third Frank Zappa T-Shirt. The original image was taken at the Pittsburgh Syria Masque in 1973 during the Apostrophe Tour. Both Frank and the Masque are long gone, but not forgotten. Buy your t-shirt at my commercial site by clicking here.
