Sunset in Paradise
On Saturday we are venturing to Quintana Roo and our Westin Condo at Lagunamar in Cancun for a week of fun in the sun. We have never been there before. People have told me that the white sand beaches at Cancun and Islas Mujeres are the best in the world. After all it is where the Movie “Ten” was shot and all men my age can still see Bo Derreck’s slow motion trek across the sand in their mind’s eye. We shall see. This is Ka’anapali Beach in Maui County in the State of Hawaii and still my favorite white sand beach. We shall see.

Ka’anapai Beach
I went to U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago on Independence Day to see the White Sox beat Baltimore on Adam Dunn’s walk off home run. OH what a great game when you get to see your team hit a walk off home run! However, as usual the crowd was almost as entertaining as the game itself. It always amazes me how quickly the sun rises. In Atlantic City, or any eastern facing beach for that matter you get a clear view of the horizon. From the time of this picture until the sun is fully out of the water is only about 5 minutes so you have to have a plan. Just me and the gull and the sea. Before the Rise
I love the way shore birds seem to rise up to greet the rising sun. At the beach in Atlantic City there are mostly gulls but hearing them call out to the morning sun is a great way to start any day and is soothing to the soul. You c see other images and buy prints at my commercial site.
I hate the winter. I am not a winter sports enthusiast. Today I will have to put on long underwear just to be able to walk my dog in 4 degree weather. My mustache will ice up. My dog will start to whimper after a while because of the salt on the roads and the cold. I would much rather be in Maui today watching this guy doing his thing, snorkeling, swimming and watching a beautiful sunset while eating fish that was caught the same day. Sigh. Lunch time in Paris
Nothing means summer more to me than seeing sunflowers in bloom. Sunflowers are right up there with boston coolers, watermelon and ball games. These are Canadian sunflowers that I captured wile visiting the Jardin botanique de Montréal which is a wonderful place to visit while in Montréal.
