A Hundred Places I Went To Before I Died

My book has been available for about one year now and sales have been underwhelming which is kind of understandable for a personal publication like this. In any case it is still on Amazon, “A Hundred Places I Went To Before I Died” (ISBN/EAN13: 1475261535 / 9781475261530.) and available for $25 with free shipping. To get your copy, click here.

It’s Friday Night in Paris time for Pari-Roller!

This is my best viewed video ever with over 1000 views on Vimeo and Youtube so let’s revisit Pari-Roller. It’s Friday night in Paris. Thousands will gather at Gare Montparnasse to skate through the city at night. I liked it so much I even made a T-shirt which you can buy a T-Shirt at my commercial site by clicking here.

Parma Ham

I am sure if you live in any major city in the United States you know where to get the best Parma Ham or prosciutto. You may even drive out of your way to go to some special Italian American deli to procure this expensive delicacy. I am also pretty sure that nothing can touch the real deal made in Italy and served in Italian Restaurants. This one was in a neighborhood bistro in milan where they give you a couple slices as an amuse bouche to wet your pallet. Buy a print of this one and see others at my commercial gallery.

Lahaina Ship Wreck

While having lunch in Lahaina we saw this shipwreck in the harbor. I couldn’t help but wonder how long it had been there, probably since the last major storm. However as I took this picture I couldn’t help but think back to Lahaina’s history when the old sea town was frequented by Whalers and Pirates instead of tourists. Diamond Head

I was very unimpressed with Honolulu and Waikiki Beach. Maybe it is because I visited Kauai and Maui many times before ever spending any time on Oahu except for the airport. Maybe it was because I thought Miami had better beaches. Maybe it was because Honolulu reminded me of Miami. Maybe it was because of all the street hustlers and the crowded beaches. In any case the one thing I did like was Diamond Head. It was a great place to hike and quiet and serene compared to noisy Waikiki beach. San Antonio River Walk

San Antonio has a unique attraction that you wouldn’t expect to find in a Texas city. Let’s face it, most rivers in Texas don’t have a lot of water. I lived in Dallas for three years and never saw water in the Trinity river. However San Antonio is different and through the center of the city runs the San Antonio river and the San Antonio River Walk is a public park complete with Gondola tours, water taxis and scenic restaurants and shops along the banks. Not to be missed if you are there on business or pleasure. See this image and others in my book, A Hundred Places I Went to Before I died.

A Street in Orléans

Orléans France is a sister city to New Orleans and while they have much in common they are fundamentally different. They both offer scenic beauty, architecture and are along important rivers. Both cities serve great food to their guests and have wide choices in dinning. New Orleans however is edgy, vibrant and sometimes a little vulgar. Orléans is almost bucolic in nature; they keep their edgy in Paris which is an hour away by train. This is a street in in Orléans adjacent to river Loire. Paris from the Pompidou Center

The Pompidou Center is one of the greatest modern art museums in the world. If you manage to get all the way to the top you will also see one of the great views of Paris. It is worth the ride up the giant escalators listening to the drumscape provided my Mickey Hart just to see the view. Of course the top floor has some great exhibits too. The sculpture and water garden on the roof is invigorating as is the view. You can buy a print of this image and see others on my commercial gallery by clicking here.

Orléans City Hall

The city of Orléans is about 90 kilometers south of Paris in the Loire River valley. It is a beautiful small city with friendly people, great architecture and wonderful restaurants offering all types of Cuisine. Renaissance Hotel Groslot serves as the Town Hall for this beautiful city and is situated behind the Sainte-Croix Cathedral. Revel in the Pool

The pool and Spa area at the Revel Resort in Atlantic City New Jersey are world class. This is the outdoor pool in the Winter but it is heated so you can swim out into the cold air and then back inside to steamy warmth. The Spa has coed whirlpools and salt rooms and great steam, sauna and jacuzzis in the club house. The spa treatments we had were first class in everyday. Buy a print of Sunrise at the pool on my commercial gallery by clicking here.
