Call me what ever names you want to, but I’m not dead yet and this young lady should wear a bikini and I’m glad she did.

I have observed people do this in Maui, Cancun and Florida. This young lady made it look easy but in my heart I know it’s not and requires something I have always had in short supply. No not guts, but balance has never been my strong suit.

I watched this young lady training her puppy along the Tampa Riverwalk. She was very patient and I noticed she alternated between treating the dog and praising her dog while training him to retrieve. I have always thought that is the best way to train your dog so the dog doesn’t expect a treat each time they perform a desired action.

I have always been fascinated by watching male behavior around women. Unlike me, most men will not glance at an attractive woman if there is any chance they will be caught ogling. They will suck in their guts until they pass out but not venture a glance. I on the other hand just don’t give a damn.

As many of you know, I have been working on a new Photography Book, Just a Kiss. This is a collection of images featuring people kissing in public places. This is the newest image and was taken on the Blu Deck in Cancún Mexico against the setting sun.

The original photo for this creation was done in a State College Pennsylvania Dance Studio. You can buy a T-Shirt with this design at my commercial gallery by clicking here.
I published the middle image from this series a couple of years ago and it is a candidate for my work in progress, “Just a Kiss”. However, yesterday while reviewing images I noticed the sequence for the first time. The three pictures were taken in sequence over one minute. In the first the young lady seems to want to have nothing to do with this guy, the image says no..no..NO! The middle is the kiss and the final image, well they both seemed to like it. From 1975 through 1978 I was employed by the Ivy School of Professional Art in Pittsburgh PA as a Photographic Instructor. With the help of students and staff we constructed darkrooms and studios. I was fortunate to have some great students who turned out to be successful photographers and illustrators and most of them also turned into great people. Our field trips were legendary. Thanks to social media we have reunited and the Facebook group now has over 170 members. This weekend a lot of them will meet for an annual reunion, which unfortunately I can’t attend.
Some of my students have not survived though like the stunning Becky Richardson who was kind enough to model for the class on one of our field trips to an old barn. Rest in Peace Becky, I am sure you will be well remembered this weekend. You can see other images and purchase prints and apparel at my commercial site. This image is not for sale.
To be a good photographer you must give yourself permission to observe the world around you. In my world this includes people which means you have to give yourself permission to be a little bit of a voyeur. Some can’t do that and limit their work to flowers or vistas and there is nothing wrong with that. Being a photographer is about setting limits. One friend looked at my work for “Just a Kiss” and said that I was shameless and really had big cohones. This made me glow, what a compliment for a street photographer. I like to photograph the little moments of life, a hug, a kiss, a passing moment. You can buy a print of this image at my commercial gallery.
I have had a wonderful life so far and over the years photographed a lot of people. However, my favorite model has always been my wonderful bride. This year we celebrate our 42nd year of marriage and we are still happy and in love. Isn’t that the way it is supposed to work? This is her in the early 1970’s near Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
