Candidate #14–Summer Moon

I am going to be posting images that I may have posted before with a candidate # thereby collecting a list of what I feel would be likely candidates to print for a gallery show of Photojournalism. This is a composite of a moon image and the streams at Bushkill Falls. Please feel free to leave comments if you agree or disagree about including them in a “best of” list.

Things I’ll Miss—Moonlit Nights

If you follow this blog you know that for some time we have been trying to sell our house and move back to Pittsburgh. Our tablets are done (DreamMap publishing in October) and it is time to come off the mountain. Of course moving is hard work so I haven’t been taking new pictures and have been thinking of how to keep the blog “alive” during this time of transition.

Moonlit waterfalls are beautiful wether they exist in nature or are created. The moon is from our back yard, the waterfall is part of Bushkill Falls about twenty miles away.

Candidate #5–Bienvenue a Paris

I am starting to toy with the concept of doing more exhibition photography after we relocate. During the 1970’s I worked as a photojournalist in Pittsburgh and displayed some work in museum shows including the Carnegie Museum. I stopped working in the field when I became involved in printing and publication. I retired early so I could pick up Photography again and began doing photojournalism although this time without assignments. I am looking for work that Henri Cartier-Bresson would like.

I am going to be posting images that I may have posted before with a candidate # thereby collecting a list of what I feel would be likely candidates to print for a gallery show of Photojournalism. This one was taken in Paris. I was capturing a young couple kissing under a street lamp and this young man saw me and stuck his face in my camera and laughing shouted Bienvenue a Paris! Please feel free to leave comments if you agree or disagree about including them in a “best of” list.

Foggy Night

Outside it was night, it was dark and very moist. Like being inside a chocolate layer cake. After you have been outside for a while in a sea fog, you can taste it even if you have been smoking a Cuban cigar and drinking coffee.

Paris Summer Night

On a clear summer night there are few cities as beautiful as Paris. Every corner, old building and tree have a story to tell. Because of the geographical location it stays light longer making natural light images like easier to photograph. See more images from Paris and buy Prints at my commercial gallery.

Brera at Night

A great place to dine in Milan is in the Brera which is one of the arts districts in the City. It was not far from our hotel and i asked the Concierge if it was safe to walk and he assured me it was. We had a lovely dinner and walking back we saw this young coed walking by herself through the streets and realized it surely must be safe. Good Night Kiss

Paris is the City of Lights and nighttime seems to be a social lubricant for kissing. As I am working on my book, I also realize that night time kisses in public are harder to capture. You can’t see as far and can’t use your flash so patience is a key. This shot was taken in Paris in 2011 and you can purchase a print by clicking here.

What better place in all the world to kiss your sweetheart than at the setting sun in front of the Eiffel Tower. Buy a print of this or other prints from my Europe Gallery by clicking here.

Passionate Kiss

Last week’s post (Bienvenue a Paris) received a lot of view and comments. What actually caused the young man to stick his face in my camera was the fact that he saw me taking this picture which will certainly be a part of my new book.
