Each year Iris puts on a show and each year there are more and more in the garden so we divide them up and create other Iris pockets. This was taken on a Nikon D3100 with a 50mm-300mm Nikon Lens at 240mm at f11 for 1/160th of a second at an ISO of 400. You can buy a print of this one by clicking here.
Pocono Iris
Grey Towers was the summer home of Gifford Pinchot. Among other things Pinchot was the first Chief of the United States Forest Service from 1905 until his firing in 1910, and was the 28th Governor of Pennsylvania. The splendid grounds and views from Grey Towers are free to the public but there is a small charge for a tour of the interior of the mansion. It is in Milford Pennsylvania and beautiful and a tribute to his work in environmental conservation. See more scenic views and buy prints at my commercial site.

On a clear summer night there are few cities as beautiful as Paris. Every corner, old building and tree have a story to tell. Paris Summer Night
The famous film director Robert Altman was once asked why all of his movies had at least one murder. He said, and I paraphrase, “…you don’t have to too much of a plot if you have at least one murder scene.” So here it is once again, my 8 minute epic videograph of Europe and make sure you wait for the murder scene! Horses are a popular theme in the modern cultural history of Milan. Maybe it’s because of the story of Leonardo’s horse. Leonardo’s horse is a sculpture that was commissioned of Leonardo da Vinci in 1482 by Duke of Milan but never completed. The late Charles C. Dent of Allentown, Pa. – a retired commercial airline pilot dedicated the final 17 years of his life to bring The Horse to life. While Charles C. Dent passed away in 1994 his organization continued and completed the statue in 1999. The statue stands as a symbol of goodwill between the American people and the people of Italy. I don’t know the background of this sculpture which is adjacent to Il Duomo but can’t help but think that in some way it is related to Leonardo”s Horse. Milan Horses Sculpture
Most people travel to this part of Bavaria to see the famous castle Neuschwanstein and the lesser known Hohenschwangau Palace. Neuschwanstein was built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria who was also known as the Mad King, But what brought Ludwig to Schwangau in the first place? Maybe it was this view which is the view of Schwangau from the Western side of the castle. You can see other images and buy a print of this one at my european gallery.

Just about everything in the Pompidou Centre expresses modern art. As you take the escalator to the higher floors you are treated to Soundscape by former Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart. The elevator to the ground floor is also a work of art and changes appearance depending on the position of the ascending or descending elevator.
